Associate Dean Li Zhongwei
Li Zhongwei: Professor, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the College of Political Science, responsible for undergraduates’ teaching and learning as well as promotion, training of faculty etc.
Born in August 1974, Li is a citizen of Anyue, Sichuan, a Communist Party member. In 2001, Li graduated with his bachelor’s degree from China Youth University of Political Studies, majoring in ideological and political education offered by the Youth Work Department. In 2006, he earned his master’s degree in Marxist Theory & Ideological and Political Education from the College of Marxism of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. In 2014, he earned his Ph.D in Marxist Theory & Ideological and Political Education from the College of Marxism of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Now, Li is working on the instruction of courses like “Introduction to Basic Marxist Theory”, “Maoism & Introduction to the Localization of Socialism in China”, “Situation & Policy”, “Contemporary World Economy and Politics” etc. Meanwhile, he is also responsible for the research in the areas of university students’ ideological & political education and national public security problems.
Li hosts 2 provincial projects, 4 projects from the Sichuan Education Department, and 3 school-level projects. In addition, he takes participation in 4 provincial projects and 4 projects from Sichuan Education Department. In 2015, Li was promoted as a professor of ideological and political education. He has published more than 30 articles in the following journals, such as Journal of Ideological & Theoretical Education, China Youth Study, Guizhou Ethinic Study, Hei Longjiang National Series, Mao Zedong Thought Study, Journal of Jiangshu Normal University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition), Theory and Reform. He has also published 1 academic monograph, compiled 1 book as the chief editor, another book as the vice editor and has worked as a member of the editorial board for 3 books. Li once received the second prize of excellent achievement for his paper in the Ideological & Political Education Seminar by the Sichuan Higher Education Institution. He also gained the second prize of excellent achievement for his another paper in the Ideological & Political Education Chapter Seminar of China Electronic Education Research Association in 2015. Simultaneously, he was granted with the title of an excellent worker in “Three Aspects of Education” in 2013-2015. Currently, Li undertakes the secretary work of the Secretariat of the Ideological & Political Education Seminar by the Sichuan Higher Education Institution. He is also a council member of the Sichuan Youth Moral Education Research Association.
